Safety & Moderation
Staying safe, finding support, and how to report, block or appeal.
Last updated: October 14, 2026
This is Luvenue’s Safety Policy. It explains what we don’t allow, what we do to keep members safe, how to report someone, what happens after a report, and where to get help. It is also our online safety center. Luvenue is made by Mocha Innovations LLC.
LUVENUE DOES NOT CONDUCT CRIMINAL BACKGROUND SCREENINGS ON ITS MEMBERS.
ONLINE DATING SAFETY AWARENESS
Anyone who is able to commit identity theft can also falsify a dating profile. An individual may provide false information in a dating profile. Getting to know someone through an online dating service may be risky, so follow safety precautions when you share information or meet in person. There is no substitute for acting with caution when communicating with any stranger who wants to meet you. Never include your last name, email address, home address, phone number, place of work, social security number, details of your daily routine, or any other identifying information in your profile or in initial messages or communications. Stop communicating with anyone who pressures you for personal or financial information or attempts in any way to trick or coerce you into revealing it.
PROTECTING YOURSELF FROM SEXUAL ASSAULT AND DATING VIOLENCE
Engaging in sexual conduct without the other person’s consent is a criminal act and subject to prosecution. If you choose to have a face-to-face meeting with another member, always tell someone in your family or a friend where you are going and when you will return. Never agree to be picked up at your home. Always provide your own transportation to and from your date and meet in a public place with many people around. Block and report to Luvenue any member whose behavior is suspicious, offensive, harassing, threatening, or fraudulent, who asks you for money, or who tries to sell you a product or service. If you are the victim or survivor of sexual or intimate partner violence or a financial crime through someone you met on Luvenue, please report it to us and to law enforcement. You are not to blame, and you can get support from national or local hotlines and services. Reporting criminal activity may help stop the person from hurting you or others, and may be needed for us to act against them. To report a member, tap Report in the app or email safety@luvenue.com. If you are in danger, call 911. Support resources: National Sexual Assault Hotline 1-800-656-4673; National Domestic Violence Hotline 1-800-799-7233.
PROTECTING YOURSELF FROM FINANCIAL CRIMES
Never send money or share financial information with another member, especially by wire transfer, even if they say they are having an emergency, and no matter the story. Report any member who asks you for money. Learn more about romance scams at consumer.ftc.gov, and report fraud to the Federal Trade Commission at reportfraud.ftc.gov.
What we don’t allow
Our Community Guidelines are the full rules. In short, we don’t allow:
- Anything that threatens someone’s safety, whether it happens on Luvenue or with someone you met here: violence or threats of violence, homicide, kidnapping, assault, unlawful sexual behavior, stalking, harassment, drugging someone or getting them intoxicated against their will, robbery, and theft.
- Sexual content in photos, on video calls or in Date Rooms, and any sexual conduct without the other person’s consent.
- Graphic injuries, blood or weapons on camera during a video call.
- Anything that sexualizes, exploits or endangers a child, including child sexual abuse material, grooming, sextortion and trafficking. See our child safety standards.
- Sharing, or threatening to share, an intimate image of anyone without their consent, including one made or altered with AI.
- Hate, bullying, and harassment, including contacting someone again after they’ve made clear they don’t want it.
- Promoting or encouraging suicide or self-harm.
- Scams and asking for money, gifts, financial details or account logins; commercial sex, and compensated or “sugar” dating.
- Fake profiles: using someone else’s photos, pretending to be someone else, or lying about your age.
- Recording or sharing another member’s video, photos or messages without their permission. On Android, screenshots and screen recordings of a call come out black. On iPhone, the other person’s video is hidden while your screen is recorded or shared. Screenshots can’t be blocked on iPhone, so this rule still applies.
- Anyone under 18.
Background checks, and who can’t use Luvenue
We do not conduct criminal background screenings of our members, in any circumstances. Nobody at Luvenue searches criminal records, sex-offender registries or background-check services about anyone, including in response to a report. Because we don’t screen, we have no rule that excludes people with particular criminal convictions. We act on what members do and on the reports we receive: if we believe that someone poses a risk to anyone’s safety, we may remove their account (Terms of Service, Section 10).
Identity and age
We don’t check members’ identities, and you should never assume a profile is who it says it is. Every member must be at least 18. Before anyone can sign up, the app may ask their app store for their age range, and it asks for their date of birth, which can’t be changed in the app afterwards. We don’t accept new sign-ups in Minnesota, Mississippi, Nebraska or Tennessee yet. Anyone these checks show to be under 18 can’t join. Our automated safety checks also look at photos and video calls, and when one appears to show someone under 18, the account is removed. If we got that wrong, the member can appeal. These checks estimate apparent age; they don’t identify anyone.
How to report someone
- In the app, tap Report on their profile, in your conversation, or during a video call. You can also report someone you’ve been on a call with from Settings › People you’ve met, even after the call has ended. You can choose a reason, including violent or graphic content on a call.
- Or email safety@luvenue.com.
- For an intimate image shared without consent, use Intimate Image Removal. Anyone can ask, member or not.
- If you’re in immediate danger, call 911 first. We can’t send help to you.
Please report honestly. Don’t submit a report you know is false, and don’t report someone for malicious or biased reasons, to get back at them, or for any other illegitimate reason. False or bad-faith reports break our Community Guidelines.
What happens after a report
We keep a copy of what you reported, as it was when you reported it, so your report still stands if the other person changes their profile, blocks you or deletes their account. Reports go to a person on our team for review, and reports of serious harm, such as threats, sexual harassment and anything involving a child, are reviewed on a prioritized basis. If you report a threat made during a call, we suspend the member you reported at once while we review it. We never tell the person you reported who reported them. You can see where each of your reports stands in Settings › Safety requests, and if you asked to hear back, we’ll let you know when the review is done.
Suspension and removal
Depending on what we find, we may remove content, give a strike, suspend an account for a time, restrict what it can do, or remove it from Luvenue. Some of this happens automatically:
- Our safety checks can reject a photo, block a message, end a call, or suspend an account for a short time and add a strike. Three strikes will generally mean removal.
- Graphic injuries, blood or a weapon on a video call. The call ends for both people, and both see a card with 911 and the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. The member whose video showed it can’t make or join calls for 24 hours; the pause lifts by itself. Twice within 30 days means a 7-day suspension, and three times within 30 days means removal.
- A threat reported by the other person on a call. We suspend the reported member at once while a person reviews it, and a confirmed threat means a ban.
A serious violation, such as sexual content on video, anything involving a child, a threat, or an intimate image shared without consent, can mean immediate removal without a strike first. A member we remove may not come back with a new account.
Appeals
We offer an appeals process for account restrictions; submitting an appeal does not guarantee restoration.
You can appeal at luvenue.com/appeals, including an automatic call pause, suspension or removal. Appeals go to a person for review. An appeal doesn’t guarantee your account will be restored, and if we restore it, its earlier strikes stay on record.
When we tell other members
- During a video call: if our safety checks remove the other person during your call, you’ll see a message on screen that they were removed for a policy violation. If a call ends because of graphic content, you both see the same card with support resources.
- Fraud and false identity: if we ban a member because we believe they may have been using a false identity or may try to get money from members by fraud, we send a text to every member who exchanged messages with them, had a video call with them, or received an invitation from them, generally within 24 hours. The text names their profile, says when you were last in contact with them, gives the reason, and has advice on avoiding scams.
- Otherwise, we don’t notify other members about reports or removals, and we never say who made a report.
How we handle reports of harassment
Harassment includes threats, hate, bullying, unwanted sexual messages or advances, following someone’s avatar around a room, and contacting someone again after they’ve made clear they don’t want it. When you report harassment, we keep a copy of what you reported, and your report goes to a person on our team for review; threats and sexual harassment are reviewed on a prioritized basis. Depending on what we find, we may remove content, give the member a strike, or suspend, restrict or remove their account, and we keep the evidence for the periods in our Privacy Policy. We never tell the member you reported who reported them. If you asked to hear back, we let you know when the review is done. Where someone’s safety is at risk, we may share information with law enforcement, as our Privacy Policy describes. If someone you met on Luvenue harasses you somewhere else, you can still report them from your conversation or from Settings › People you’ve met, and we may act on their Luvenue account. You can block them at any time, whether or not you report.
Consent
Engaging in sexual conduct with another person without their consent violates this Safety Policy, is against the law, and may result in criminal or civil liability.
Intimate image removal
If an intimate image or video of you (including one that was AI-generated or digitally altered) appears on Luvenue without your consent, you, or someone authorized to act for you, can ask us to remove it, whether or not you have a Luvenue account. Use our Intimate Image Removal page, email safety@luvenue.com, or in the app choose Report and then “Intimate image shared without my consent”. When we receive a valid request, we remove the content as soon as possible, and no later than 48 hours after we receive it, and within the same 48 hours we make reasonable efforts to identify and remove known identical copies. We give you a reference number and tell you the outcome, including why if we don’t remove something. We don’t ask you to prove that you didn’t consent, and we don’t penalize anyone for making a good-faith request.
Support, always in reach
The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline and the other resources listed below are in the app’s Settings and in the menu during a video call. If you’re worried about someone you’ve met, the app shows you ways to help: if they’re in immediate danger and you know where they are, call 911; you can share 988 with them; and you can report them if they broke a rule. That screen stays on your phone, and nothing from it is sent to us.
Staying safe online and in person
- Keep early conversations inside Luvenue. A message that shares a link, a handle or another app may be held back by our safety checks.
- Share your phone number only when you’re ready. On Luvenue, nothing is shared until you both choose to.
- If you meet someone in person, meet in a public place with many people around, get there and back on your own, and tell a friend or family member where you’re going and when you’ll be back.
- Trust your instincts. You can end a call, block, or report at any time.
Romance scams
A romance scammer builds trust, then asks for money. Be careful if someone asks you for money, gift cards, cryptocurrency or help with a payment, for any reason; pitches an investment or trading opportunity; wants to move the conversation to another app quickly; says they love you very soon; or has a story that keeps changing. If you think you’ve met one, stop replying, don’t send anything, and report them. You can also report the scam to the FTC at reportfraud.ftc.gov and to the FBI at ic3.gov. If you’ve already sent money, contact your bank or payment service straight away.
What we do to keep Luvenue safe
- Video first. You meet on a live video call before anyone can message you, and a conversation opens only after two minutes on video, when you’ve both tapped Keep in touch.
- Age checks before anyone can sign up: the app store’s age range where it’s available, and a date of birth.
- Automated safety checks on profile photos, profile text, video calls (still images at regular intervals; audio is never recorded) and on the text of messages.
- Graphic content ends the call. If a video call shows graphic injuries, blood or a weapon, the call ends for both people, with support resources on screen.
- Support in reach: 988 and other resources in Settings and in the menu during a call.
- A person reviews reports and appeals, with serious harm reviewed on a prioritized basis.
- Blocking that works both ways, and ending a call at any time.
- Cooldowns after a call ends before you’ve both shown interest, so no one can keep calling you.
- Strikes, call pauses, suspensions and removals, and steps to stop removed members coming back with a new account.
- Location kept private. Your phone rounds your location before it reaches us, and other members see the neighborhood or city name on your profile, never your exact location.
- Phone numbers stay private unless you both choose to share them.
- Intimate-image removal as soon as possible and no later than 48 hours after a valid request, and child-safety reporting to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.
- Fraud notices to the members who were in contact with someone we ban for fraud or false identity.
- Safety notices when you join, and safety resources on this page and in the app.
